Pho VTa Vietnamese Restaurant: Unforgettable Pho & Affordable Vietnamese Cuisine in Nanaimo

This has been my go-to restaurant for years. I’ve tried many dishes, and everything has been great. I usually start with spring rolls or salad rolls, followed by Pho Tai, hot and sour chicken soup, a weekend-only crêpe, or ginger chicken chow mein.

Broth is decent, but they're usually pretty skimpy on their meat when you order the everything beef pho. The spring rolls are usually pretty good. Overall it's one of the lower priced vietnamese places in nan and it's usually decent!

Mike the server was excellent and very friendly. Shoutout to him hopefully he sees this review, maybe the owners can show him. Food was great too and the portion was huge, I am a bigger guy and just got out of the gym so I was very hungry but I still couldn't finish all the food.

I say it like it is. Best pho in Nanaimo. On point service as well. I come here every year like clockwork.

One of the most affordable restaurants in Nanaimo. Pho prices are $11.95 for regular and $1-2 extra for a large. Vermicelli noodles $12.75 to $14.95 as with most of their menu. I can see why this place is popular with take out. I tried the pho a couple of years ago and I gave them 4 stars but I haven't returned back since. However today I stopped by and tried the vermicelli noodles with pork, pork pattie and spring rolls special combination ($16.95). It was a super version of the regular vermicelli noodles. It was okay and came with a lot of meat. The noodles and fish sauce was fine but the salad (lettuce and cucumber) could have used a bit of shredded carrots. The pork chop was boneless and a bit over cooked but still okay. I wish they kept it bone-in and have a nice grill mark with lemon grass flavoring. The spring roll was also dry and tasteless. The pork pattie was a bit dry but okay. I wouldn't recommend getting the vermicelli noodles as it is okay but not something I would recommend. The pho is much better and what I would order next time. The service is quick and friendly from an older cute couple. The restaurant decor is very basic and it helps keep the prices low, so I won't complain but it's not somewhere to impress a guest unless you are looking for cheap eating spots.

Great authentic Vietnamese food. Soup was hot and flavourful. Waitress was on the ball and super friendly. Ordered the spicy beef noodle soup (bun Bo hue) Very reasonably priced considering the quality and portion size. Other dishes looked good and plentiful.

I come here on my break. The service is fast and prompt. The food is hot and delicious every time!
